Elm Creek North
is located on the north side of Hwy 290 between
Manor and Elgin and comprises 205 acres of land available for
residential development, adjacent to 72 acres set
aside for retail/commercial development). Although the land is
located in Travis County, it is in the ETJ of Elgin
and the Elgin Independent School District. A
development agreement with Elgin grants development
authority to Travis County.
At Elm Creek South,
across Hwy 290 on the south side, Centex Homes is
building out a residential subdivision of 670 homes
and amenities. In the Fall of 2008, approximately
65-70% of this subdivision was complete.
All of the Elm
Creek development on both sides of Hwy 290 is part of the Travis County
Municipal Utility District No. 14. Through the MUD,
water is provided by a wholesale water agreement
with Aqua Water Company and sewer treatment is
provided by a wholesale agreement with LCRA, owner
of the Elgin sewer system. As a consequence, the
water and sewer tap fees are minimal and payable
only to the MUD. Through the bonding capacity of the
MUD, developer reimbursements are available for the
internal development costs of water, sewer and
drainage. |
